Write for Daily Quadrat
Daily Quadrat is an upcoming newsletter delivering daily typographic curiosities to graphic and type designers, lettering artists, bibliophiles — anyone with type in their veins.
We’re looking for guest contributors: designers and writers who have something to promote, or those who just can’t stop thinking about type and design. It’s a chance to reach a small but deeply engaged audience who explicitly signed up to read exactly this kind of content.
What you might write about
You don’t have to stick to this list, these are only suggestions:
- Your design process, or an explanation of a single project
- An interesting discovery or piece of type history
- Your kit: the tools and materials you use (or the old ones you miss)
- Observations from the industry, or a parallel discipline
- Technical deep-dives
- Interviews
- Book and film reviews
Our editorial approach
- Thoughtful and technical is welcome
- Strong opinions are welcome
- Straight promotional copy is not — write something worth reading and the promotion will take care of itself
- We may edit slightly for clarity and length
- Your bio can link to your foundry, projects, prints, books …
- We’ll sometimes draft an intro if we think it strengthens the piece
Format and process
- Length: roughly 300–500 words, but quality over quantity
- Images: the main post image size we’ll confirm with you; any additional images can be 640–1280px wide and as tall as needed
- Schedule: guest posts run on Tuesdays
- Previously published work is fine. Ideally it should say something new. We’ll cite the original.
Interested? Email us at editor@quadrat.today — we’d love to hear what you want to write about.
